 Il Divo's "The Promise" December 16, 2008
If this was the first cd that Il Divo made, I think it would be their last. After waiting so long for this cd, I found it extremely disappointing. All eleven songs are "cookie cutter". They start with Sebastien, who you can hardly hear at the beginning, so you have to turn the volume way up, then David, then Urs, and then finally Carlos who ends up screaming at the end of every song. I'm a die hard Il Divo fan and will see them in concert next May. However, I certainly hope they have something else in their repertoire other than these 11 very disappointing songs. Furthermore, all eleven songs sound alike.

I really enjoy the luxury edition of THE PROMISE by Il Divo. Included on the DVD are 3 songs plus a really well put together clip of Il Divo talking about their new CD and the different songs that are on it. It is so cool to be able to watch them singing, and to see which face goes with each unique voice. I would highly recommend the luxury edition over the (cheaper) normal edition (without the DVD).

The CD is excellent. I love all the songs, but I think Halleluiah is my favorite, with Amazing Grace close behind, or maybe La Luna, or one of the other 8 songs. It doesn't have to be in English to be spectacular - Spanish or Italian is just fine for me. Can't wait for Spring to see them again.

I really love Il Divo's music, especially their stirring rendition of "Amazing Grace". For anyone who has seen the video on the internet, you should know that it is also included in this Luxury CD/DVD edition. Unfortunately, the information on this web site does not list the "Amazing Grace" video on the DVD portion, but I just got it and it definitely is there. Beautiful!

Well, Il Divo has done it again!!! I think this is their best CD yet. If it is possible their voices are stronger than ever. The wait was well worth it. They promised a special CD and they carried out their "Promise". Can't wait to get the new DVD being released in Dec. and then, of course, the concerts in May (such a long wait but from their previous concerts I am sure it will prove to be worth the wait too).
