Does what it says on the tin February 24, 2010 MrsM (UK) Very simple board picture book, big pictures and a simple caption (that I don't usually bother reading out) showing lots of everyday activities with Mum, Dad, sibling and baby. Nicely ambiguous genders so that sibling/baby could be either, and a good range of activities give lots of talking points. A particular strength if you're planning on breastfeeding is that 2 pictures show Mummy feeding the baby (while older sibling calmly and patiently gets on with something else!) My 21 mo old son regularly asks to see the 'baby book' and I think it has helped him get to grips with the idea of us as a family of 4.
Perfect for startting your own chats September 16, 2009 Mrs. Caroline G. Black This was recommended by a friend and it worked brilliantly for us in preparing our daughter for the new arrival. As there are no words it was great as it stimulated discussion rather than reading the same words over and over again. That way, it never became boring for my eldest. Highly recommend as a sensible intro to the changes ahead.
Not very impressed August 27, 2009 Wonder Woman (Ireland) I bought this book for my son, who is 2 and half to introduce him to his new brother. I was quite disappointed with the book, it was a little boring and did not hold my sons interest. I felt some of the content was a little out of his range and overall, it didnt impress me.
My New Baby (All in a day) May 31, 2009 Mrs. M. A. Hannon (Bristol, England) Absolutely fabulous. My daughter was 15 months old when I bought this book for her. I bought two others as well but this is the one she took to, I think because it has real images - daddy changing nappies, cooking dinner, a grandad etc. When I was in hospital with the new baby my sister adapted the story to include the new baby's name. She really loves the book and I think because it doesn't have words it's even better because you can make the story suit your family.

I am finding this book very good, the only comment I can make is there are a couple of pictures that involve breast feeding and no bottle feeding pictures, I will not be breast feeding my new baby and as such these will not apply, I think there should be more of a balanced view.
