 Simple, solid great value clippers - with a vast selection of accessories August 19, 2010

When my first pair of clippers stopped once I decided to replace them even though I managed to get them started again - who wants half a head of No2 length hair?
I've been cutting my own hair for about ten years now - since thinning made the clipper cut the best of a bad job - and this clipper replaces the Nicky Clark branded one I have had for that long. It's probably not a fair comparison, as I suspect that I hadn't oiled the last one nearly often enough, but the new Wahl clippers cut much better - both the hair at the side of my head, which is still quite wiry, and the much thinner stuff on top. It feels solid enough, so I'm not expecting it to break down soon. The one element of the design that I don't like is the on-off switch, which is a fragile looking slide design rather than the robust rocker switch of the previous one; it does look vulnerable to being broken off if I drop the clippers.
There's a huge number of accessories in the carry case, including No.8 cutter (can't think what kind of hair that would work well on!) but I threw most of these away.
Great value - less than the cost of two visits to the barbers. If you're thinking of cutting your hair at home, this would be a good set to start with. There's doubtless better, but I'm not sure that many home users would really need it.

Has paid for itself after a couple of cuts. Easy to use and nothing like the high street cheap ones. Defo for novice hair cutting mums who are fed up off wasting money on a simple all over for the boys. Comes with everything you need, even the gown.
