Norton never fails to live up to expectations July 26, 2010 D. Haw (West Yorkshire, UK) I'm an unashamed performer of Norton and always recommend it to friends or family who are considering internet security software. I've used several versions: plain old anti-virus, anti-virus Gaming Edition and now Internet Security. This most recent offering has been my favourite by far.
Offering virus and spyware protection, Norton Internet Security protects you from threats as you surf the web. I'm fairly savvy when online but even I've been surprised at the threats it has blocked. True, many have been cookies, but there have been a couple of viruses that I'm glad never made it further than Norton's quarantine!
As well as comprehensive virus protection, Norton Internet Security includes a range of other tools to optimise the performance of your PC. Many of these are already available in a similar form via Windows but I find Norton much more user friendly. Tools allow you to free up system memory, clean your hard drive and fixes your registry files. Although an initial scan and fix of my 'old' (i.e. bought three years ago!) laptop took a considerable time, I had to admit it ran faster.
The license covers for 3 PCs for one year so is good value for households with multiple PCs/laptops. I used this on both a laptop and a PC and found it ran well, updated quickly and easily and was unobtrusive while doing its job well. All in all, a well deserved five stars.

I have been working on computers since 1964, yes 1964. I have owned my own computers since 1980 when I started programming. I now build computers and repair them, the repairs are mostly software problems and not hardware. I would say that 80% of the machines I repair have Norton installed on them, and that same 80% have a virus or trojan that Norton has missed completely. Do yourselves a favour and do not even think about installing it on your machine. if you are going out to buy a new machine and the salesman tells you with great excitement that the machine you are looking at comes with Norton, say " Lets look at something else then!"
Remember this or you will regret it I assure you.
( Don't have anything to do with McAfee either as it is almost as bad.)Norton Internet Security 2010 - 1 User (PC CD) and anything in betweenNorton 360 v4.0 Upgrade Edition - 1 User 3 (PC)
great protection, great price! July 17, 2010 Mrs. Susan Fey this is the same price as the normal norton 2010 except this comes with the performance tools which are a quick way to get rid of junk files and windows regisrty files, i saved 12gb of hard drive space with this tool. the internet security itself is brilliant, it scans when my computer it's idle, when i activate a full screen program or game it goes to silent mode so it will only interrupt you for high-risk situations and the norton toolbar for firefox is a good way to make sure you aren't going onto an unsafe website. i highly reccommend this product!
Superb July 7, 2010 Wamusyi (London, United Kingdom) Norton internet security has served me well for years. The Norton Utility tool included in this package has also managed to fix my registry and other features and tremendously improved the performance of my laptop. The price is very good for the two
I take back everything I said about Norton June 21, 2010 Big Bertha (UK) The last time I installed Norton on my PC was many, many years ago and after it hogging all my resources and slowing my PC so much it was practically unusable I threw it away and swore I'd never go near it again.
The positive reviews on here had me intrigued and the 3 PC package with Norton Utilities included looked to be pretty good value, so I thought I'd give it a go.
I'm impressed, installation was easy and in comparison with some other Internet Security packages relatively hassle-free and fast. Following installation it did a system scan and picked up a few baddies that my previous security package (AVG) had missed and finished the scan in about the same time. It's a comprehensive package that protects you from identity theft, viruses, spyware, trojans and hackers. The interface is easy to understand and changing the settings is straightforward so it's pretty user friendly.
The Utilites disc has various clean-up and defrag tools that are useful, though to be honest alternatives are available on the web for most of them free of charge and work just as well. But if you want the convenience of having everything you need to keep your PC optimized in one package you won't go far wrong with this software.
I've been using this security package for about a month now and everything's going pretty well, my PC is running fine and Norton seems to be sitting there in the background doing it's stuff unobtrusively which is the way I like it. It'll take a bit longer for me to be completely convinced but so far so good.
