MusicSphere Pioneer's new MusicSphere for the AVIC-X920BT allows you to easily create instant playlists from the music in your iTunes library. Playlists are stored on your iPod or iPhone and accessed through the AVIC-X920BT's MusicSphere interface. Navigation at Its Best The AVIC-X920BT offers a comprehensive map database from Tele Atlas, covering the entire United States and Canada, enabling users to route to millions of destinations, including more than 12 million points of interest (POIs). Additionally, the unit features enhanced voice recognition, including the capability to input destination addresses by voice--you can simply input an address by voice or find a place to re-fuel by saying, "Find the nearest gas station" or "Find the nearest McDonalds," and so on. ECO Features For eco-friendly consumers, the system also features the second generation ECO Driving function with new features that provide driving status reports and the driver's impact on the environment with visual images on-screen. Through Pioneer's proprietary AVIC FEEDS PC software, the unit can estimate the fuel cost of trip routes as well as the vehicle's CO2 emissions through detailed Drive Reports. Through a proprietary fuel consumption algorithm, AVIC FEEDS can also log and archive driving data and analyze driving habits to generate various reports with suggestions to improve fuel efficiency. ECO Graph New to this generation of eco-conscious features, the ECO Graph feature provides a view in addition to 2D and 3D, which divides the map view screen with a new graph to provide drivers with a visual representation of their environmental impact. Additionally, when a route is set, the unit will calculate a Drive Score based on driving efficiency, which factors abrupt stops, accelerations, and idle time. Your iPod (and iPhone) Will Thank You On top of being an exceptional navigator, the AVIC-X series delivers an iPod experience that blows away FM transmitters or cassette adapters. Even at the first glance, you will fall in love with the easy-to-use touchscreen controls for your music and brilliant 6.1-inch display for your videos. Album art is also beautifully displayed. amazon's shipping methods September 3, 2010 tvmaster (San Clemente, Ca.) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
ordered three items from Amazon on Aug 31. All items were listed as "in stock".
the next day, Amazon broke the order into two, and immediately shipped two items.
The third item (the one I want the quickest), sits in limbo with a theoretical shipping date one full week after the order was placed - for an in-stock item.
I don't get it, regardless of if I selected "super-saver" shipping. Hey, Amazon offered free shipping.
The mystery is why they split the order into two, immediately shipped two items and left the third in shipping limbo.
I learn for next time that price has its consequences.
Huge waste of money September 1, 2010 Superjay 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had this unit for a couple months now, and I'm not pleased at all with it.
Pros:
- Plays DVDs
- Has iPod integration, and shows album art
- Backup camera integration is nice
- Can play streaming bluetooth (Slacker!) from phone
- Looks cool at first
Cons:
- Horrible integration with Sirius. It just looks terrible. I've emailed support and they blamed the interface on Sirius. I've seen stock Chrysler products with Sirius built in that looked fantastic via touch screen, so I know this can't be true.
- Preset buttons are HUGE and generic. Not sure why they need to take up so much room that only 2 buttons are visible at one time. And why do they need to simply say "1" or "2"? Why can't you save the FM channel, or the Sirius channel on the button?
- Song/Artist display is sparse. There is a ton of real estate on the screen, yet they can only show one of artist/song/cd/station. Seems ridiculous that you have to hit a button to toggle between artist and song. And the field is pretty long, yet no matter how short the song or artist is, it scrolls from the right to left for everything, which is dumb and annoying.
- Navigation directions are pretty bad. I took a trip from Michigan to DC and used the navigation on this, as well as on my Droid phone (Google Maps), to compare the two. The x920 navigation was pretty bad... had me getting off on a side street in downtown Detroit, only to turn around and get back on the freeway. Many other head-scratching directions.
- The biggest con of all is the bluetooth phone integration. It is completely unusable. Every time I try to use it, the person I'm calling says everything is repeated multiple times and just sounds terrible. I really wanted this for hands-free calling, but it's simply not usable for two-way conversations.
- The other features (Eco something, pandora, etc) are half-baked at best and unusable.
I REALLY REALLY hope some of these things are fixed in future firmware updates, because the unit has potential.
Best head unit ever! August 19, 2010 Dutch 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I opted for the 920bt vs the a120 because I wanted the easily accessible volume buttons. I am super pleased with this radio and all it can do. I especially like the gas mileage computer (you input gallons used at fill up) that stores your information and gives you an option to export it to micro sd for your pc viewing pleasure. Navigation is great, looks like a map and not like a cartoon. Radio sounds really good, even though I have stock speakers. I like the ipod interface (shows album art and all song information) and music sphere feature that can be downloaded from pioneer. The best part of this hu is bluetooth, by far. People can understand me speak to them clearly and often don't even know they are on speaker. I had a kenwood in my old car and the hands free was rubbish. This system works great and you can talk normal, and not have to shout in the direction of the mic. I would recommend this to anyone.
Don't Buy August 15, 2010 Matt's Dad (United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I do not recommend buying this unit. It's navigation features are not as accurate as my Garmin GPS Navigator. The X920BT suggests wrong routes or routes that are longer than my Garmin. The annual map updates to X920BT costs $120 per year. The voice recognition software is a joke. It freezes up on occasion when I am switching between navigation and music, forcing me to turn it off and restart it.
huge improvement June 2, 2010 R. Campbell (florida) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
this is a huge improvement from the f series units. the software works fluently sound customization is even better than before and the Pandora link idea is great.
the only quirks i have seen is the standard issue with voice recognition not working too well, but i dont use it to much the units moves fast enough for me to go through menus.
also i am having issues with my stereo bluetooth playing smoothly it tends to fast forward all my songs the whole time its connected to my moto backflip, i will be going back to my blackberry soon so i will see how that works out.
the navigation isn't as good as the f-series with the up\dated garmin maps and the input format is a little weird it wont allow for zip code input which in large cities like Miami it helps in finding the address. it took me a while to learn how to input my own home address, but then again i didn't read the manual i'm not one to read those things.
overall for the price i got it for it was well worth it and best of all no software glitches that leave the unit in limbo.
i have seen that the price has gone up which is bad considering the new z120bt should be coming out soon for a little over 1k, but i saw no reason to wait cuz the differences are subtle
